New Official BXR Motors Blog!

Welcome to the official BXR Motors Blog! This is the place to be if you want to stay updated on our progress with the Bailey Blade XTR sports car.

So why a Blog?...

Well over the past two years since we started this project we have been continually updating various forums like Face Book, MySpace and several car and fabrication forums and not to mention countless emails on the progress of our car. It’s getting to be very time consuming to continue to update all of these sites. So in order to get mine and Eric’s nightlife back we felt it was good idea to centralize all the information and updates we provide. Therefore blogging was the logical solution… (Live long and Prosper Dudes)

The blogging will probably be mostly done by me but Eric may pop in from time to time. And just a heads up, I suck at typing, spelling… so don’t be shocked by mi speeling or typn.  OK!

First Blog….

One of the other and probably main reasons for this bog other than the previous things I mentioned already is that on here I can go into a lot more detail if need on what we are doing. Face Book is one of our best sites to keep people updated but it has its limits. Now we can post Pics, Videos and Eric and I and rant on for days if needed. But don’t worry, when we make a post here it will automatically be added to face book and other places to continue to keep people informed. So we are not cutting them out completely.

No really,  this is the first Blog…

Ok so over the past few weeks we have been busy with fixing a few issues on the car, mostly to do with the symmetry around the Head Lights. (ohhhh those damn Head Lights) The head lights were the one thing we did not have CAD files on so I knew it was going to kick us in the ass later on.  But with some good O’l Bubba engineering we were able to get it fixed.

Now it’s time to work on all the fenders and main body lines around the car. We needed to build forms to insert into the wheel wells and we will use these to form and keep the symmetry correct for the actual wheels and tires. At the same time we have decided to increase the front  track width on the car for better performance and in order to achieve this we needed to extend the fenders out a tad bit. Video of this will come soon.

So with this I will leave you with our latest video and a few images. We will try to add to this a lot more frequently now too. So Stay tuned.

  1. Great job! Thanks for sharing. Would you mind telling us the software you used for the design and rendering. Those images look superb. I’m also trying to design something of my own, but I’d like to hear software suggestions before spending in software that would not do the job.

  2. Great job and kudos for putting it out for all to see!

What brand/type of resin did you use to fiberglass over the foam?

  3. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience with us guys. I too plan to build a car but still doing my homework. You videos really help a lot. Hopefully I can pay back the favor some day.

How are things progressing thus far?
